From Junior to Supervisor: how Julia grew into a Linkbuilding final boss

"Day-1 me would’ve been like "wait, we’re in charge of what now?!”
Julia joined Multilogin as a Junior Linkbuilding Specialist, coming from design and teaching background, and she wasn’t quite sure what to expect - and definitely didn’t imagine she’d one day be leading linkbuilding efforts across all our projects in EOW. But today, that’s exactly where she stands: Linkbuilding Supervisor and key strategist behind some of our most successful campaigns.
I caught up with Julia to reflect on her journey, lessons learned, and the mindset that helped her grow.
If you could go back and give your Day 1 self advice, knowing what you know now - what would you say?
“Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Try new things, take on more responsibility, and trust that growth often comes from challenges. The more you’re willing to take ownership, the faster you'll learn and evolve.”
Was there a moment when someone at Eyes of Wonder saw potential in you before you saw it in yourself?
“Yes, my direct manager, User Acquisition Team lead. He consistently gave me opportunities to go beyond my core responsibilities and trusted me with tasks that helped me grow. His belief in me made a big difference. Now, I try to do the same for my team - giving them space to show what they’re capable of.”
If your role today met the ‘you’ from your first day here, what do you think they’d be most surprised by?
“Probably by how much I’ve done - the sheer amount of work completed and the real results that have come from it. I think my Day 1 self would be proud to see how far things have come (and shocked XD).”
What’s a skill or mindset you developed here that you didn’t expect would matter — but now it defines your work?
“Diplomacy. I underestimated how important people skills would be. As a backlink supervisor, you’re constantly navigating relationships with editors, backlink builders and other departments. Learning to negotiate without burning bridges and building genuine rapport has been a game-changer.”
What was the hardest part about transitioning or getting promoted — and what made it worth it?
“The hardest part was learning how to delegate some tasks. It was tough because I was used to doing everything myself. But seeing my team grow, make their own wins, and contribute to our vision - that’s been incredibly rewarding. Promotion isn’t just about leading, it’s about lifting others.”
Julia’s story is a testament to what’s possible when growth meets opportunity - and when curiosity is paired with a strong support system. We’re proud to have her leading the charge and shaping what linkbuilding means at Eyes of Wonder.
